Welcome to NAM

We welcome all riders who have a full motorcycle licence and are interested in finding out what advanced motorcycling is all about.

We can help you with your advanced motorcycle training in the Newcastle and North East area.

Feel free to browse around our Website or come along to one of our Monthly Meetings and find out about us.

The Website

The more observant of you will see that the website has gone back in time and is the old version once again.

This is a more a logistical issue of who can update what so please bear with us as we sort this out.

As part of the changes and because it is not being used Pitstop will be discontinued in the near future.

Mick Kinghorn Trackday

We, together with DAM, the Scottish IAM bike groups and the RoADAR Coordinator, have been given advance notice by Mick Kinghorn of a track day he is running at Croft on Monday 19th June 2023. Details here Motorcycle Skills Development Trackdays. Mick is highly qualified (see his website) and comes highly recommended by NAM members, not least our President.

We have decided to subsidise places on this course by £20, claimable by any NAM member that books a place. If we are over-subscribed we will draw lots. Our Treasurer, treasurer@namrider.com, will reimburse those with confirmed places - maximum number 20.

Fake Highway Codes

There are reports from reputable sources that there are Fake Highway Codes being sold.

Thanks to Jeff for the heads up.

They are pretty good fakes but you can spot them as follows:

  1. Compare the bar code numbers; the official copy has an ISBN number above its barcode.
  2. On the fake version, the logos on the front cover of the book are slightly pixelated.
  3. The official version of The Highway Code has a matte cover, the fake version has a glossy cover.
